THE PLAN

  • Bridgewater Associates will build a state of the art headquarters building on the southern peninsula site of Harbor Point
  • The building will be completed by 2016 and will be on the forefront of sustainable design

  • Its 2.2 acres or 15% of the site will be converted into a public park similar to the current Harbor Point boardwalk, linking the Harbor Point waterfront to Kosciuszko Park, creating a continuous 2 miles of public waterfront

  • The existing marina on the southern peninsula will be rebuilt and upgraded, including 110 slips, public restrooms & parking
  • A state of the art boatyard will be constructed at 205 Magee Avenue
  • The new boatyard is at the forefront of environmental design, and is designed for the Stamford boating population
  • The 205 Magee boatyard will incorporate 2.4  acres of unused City property, and will require access over a 20x40’ strip of City property. This access is granted via a license agreement
  • The license agreement sets forth additional public improvements that will be completed as part of the project, these include:
    • New Animal Shelter
    • Improvements to Kosciuszko Park
    • Improvements to Czesick & Cummings Marinas
    • Help provide for public fireworks for Stamford
  • The project fulfills a vision for Stamford that replaces jobs lost when manufacturing operations were closed, creates a series of open spaces and waterfront uses that invite the public to the water’s edge and enhances the harbor with meaningful maritime uses and other public amenities.
